We have one of the most craftiest friends. She takes DIY to the next level which is amazing and wonderful for us, especially when we're decorating for a birthday party.
Surprising someone with breakfast waffles and fresh OJ on the morning of their birthday, makes for an excellent start to the celebrating. For our breakfast, we crafted delicious waffles using the classic recipe on the side of the Bisquick box. We piled the waffles onto a vintage cake stand and topped each of them with whipped cream as we built our stack. Here we used simple whipped cream from the can. But you can create a delicious handmade whipping cream by mixing heavy whipping cream and sugar, just add a little elbow grease to get a fluffy consistency. Finally, we finished it all off with a candle and a cute happy birthday sign.
Our favorite part is the presentation of our birthday breakfast treat! We hung these amazing paint streamers that flow down from the ceiling. The streamers were made with paint sample strips (the ones here we collected from Home Depot), string and glue. Our crafty friend Michelle Barker provided us with instructions for you to create them at home. If you want to learn more DIY tips, follow Michelle on Instagram @limin_squeezy
